A New Wiki Design (Weekly Release)

We keep improving the CubeTree service every week- adding features and making it easier for teams to work together and deliver results. For this week's release we've done an update to CubeTree's wiki UI design.

Improving the Wiki
We've been running usability tests with our customers to improve the design of the CubeTree wiki. Based on their feedback this week we did an update to the wiki interface. There were some significant changes, including:

  • Making it easier to get to the wiki by adding a new "Wiki" menu item to the level navigation
  • A redesign of the create page to make it easier to start adding pages
  • When adding tables, making it easy to drag the tables to create the layout you want
Love it? Not so much? Let us know by giving us feedback.

One thing you should do right now: Send a Tweet to @cubetree if you are at Enterprise 2.0

The CubeTree team is attending the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston this week. It would be great to connect with other attendees - drop us an line.

Weekly Release - Making Your Tomorrow Better

We continue on our path of providing an update of the CubeTree service every week- adding features and making it easier for teams to work together and deliver results. For this week's release we've made an upgrade to our infrastructure to support the influx of customers from launch.

Behind-the-Scenes Infrastructure Upgrade
Since our public launch last month, we've had a huge influx of customers and activity on the CubeTree site. We are incredibly excited about the value customers are getting from our collaboration suite. In this release we upgraded our core infrastructure to support those users, including:
  • A billing upgrade to provide a free trial for CubeTree's enterprise edition
  • Adding a new scalable search back-end to support the explosive growth of content on the system (powered by Sphinx for you nerds out there)
  • Real-time monitoring for external integrations so we can identify and respond to customer requests more quickly

Updated Group Chat Beta
The first beta customers using Group Chat have been telling us what they like, and what they like slightly less... based on their feedback, we've added new features to Group Chat. If you're interested in having a look, shoot us an email at support@cubetree.com to request beta access.

One thing you should do right now: Become A Fan of CubeTree on Facebook
We've been talking to a lot of CubeTree users on twitter and Facebook.

Weekly Release - Group Chat Available in Beta

We do an update of the CubeTree service every week to add features, making it easier for teams to work together and deliver results. For this week's release we're making our group chat available to beta users and adding a few other features requested via feedback...

Real-Time Group Chat Available in Beta
Real-time communication is a key part of next-generation business collaboration. You can already view your feed in real-time to communicate quickly and easily. Starting this week we are adding our next real-time feature: Group Chat.

Specific requests for group chat functionality we've received have been:

  • Product owners asking us for product-specific chat rooms where they can always be available to answer the sales team's questions;
  • Support executives wanting chat rooms where senior support staff and engineers are availble to assist real-time in resolving problems as they come in;
  • Consultants with the desire to chat securely with the other members of their practice when they are on-site with customers; and
  • Engineering teams requesting an equivalent to IRC (internet relay chat) which they can use over HTTPS.

We are opening up beta access to the group chat feature gradually, so we can work together with customers to improve the functionality. If you'd like to have early access, please email "Group Chat" to support@cubetree.com and we'll set you up for the Group Chat beta.

Adding User Requested Features

I'm excited about the number of ideas and votes we've been getting from users in our feedback forum. And we keep adding features and fixing problems requested by the community. This week we did work to support some of our larger, more active deployments, such as:

  • Add "delete" links: Users can add links on their profile, via an integration like Google Reader, to groups, etc... These links can now be deleted by going to the links page for your profile or group.
  • Support allowing users with email addresses from different sub-domains to be part of the same network: Fixed in this release, network admins can add both email domains AND subdomains to their network. Once an email domain is added, anyone logging into CubeTree with an email address from that domain/sub-domain will be in the admin's network.
  • Support going to the website as cubetree.com as well as www.cubetree.com: Many users were saving those 4 characters and taking their brower to cubetree.com, but getting an error. This is fixed in this release.
As always, please keep the feedback and thoughts coming.
